Engine Protection/Oil Drip tray

Could anyone please advise whether this tray was a standard fitment to early Omega B models or just fitted to certain model specifications. I have seen reference to it into various maintenance manuals etc., but my current Omega does not seem to have one fitted. Not sure whether it has been removed by previous owners(s).

As JB says, fitted across the range and obviously removed for whatever reason

Appreciate if someone could post a picture of one of these trays in situ so I can see what this tray looks like and also how is it attached (bolts /screws/ brackets ( etc etc).

Open the bonnet and look down between the front of the engine and the radiator. If you can see the ground you haven't got one. ;)

4 bolt headed screws hold the tray on Scania V8 :y

Like already said it helps with cooling, the cool air is kept inside the engine bay then channeled down the gearbox tunnel instead of escaping under the engine :y

You will more than likely find that at somepoint someone has unwittingly snapped one of the bolts and not bothered to drill it out

Thats what had happned on mine and the effect on cooling was noticble once it had been replaced  :y

All assuming petrol. Diesel ones are much bigger, and weigh about 8 tonnes...

Project TB2's is still in the loft of the garage I believe. Opps.
