Dealer, as said, about £170 a pair on TC (sure the likes of Zok have TC access up Bolton way).  Replace in pairs, obviously.

Is Zok a person ? If so how would I contact him ? Or would it be better to register at a TC myself through work ?  Do you thimk that anyone has attempted to get a tech data sheet for this shocker as it seems to be a common fault ? I would of thought that monroe or someone would of copied it by now as its a 9 years + old part

That has been a point of much debate, but no firm conclusion has been reached. ;D
Therein lies the problem. An old car, whcih wasnt sold in its miilions when in production. Very much doubt that it would be cost effective for them to bother producing them.

I agree there however Im in no doubt that the same shocker will be in production for other vehicles otherwise it would be a lot more expencive to buy from a vauxhall dealer. A technical data sheet on it would be a help to find a manufacture and help others on the site

The retail price is quite dear ;)

GM would go to suppliers stating a spec. Suppliers would likely design and make to spec ;).

Now, Merc/AMG, I happen to know go to suppliers and ask what would work on their cars ::)
