I just thought that it sounded and looked a beautiful car (subject to having a closer hook) as you don't see many 1 owner omega's with fsh very often

Mine starts BEZ followed by 4 numbers, on British style plates, so so idea if Sourthern or Northern.....

More recent Eire numbers are a European style, have a letter or two at the beginning to denote which county, then the year in two numbers & then 3 random letters ............... IIRC 
Yours is a Northern Ireland number

1987.
The format is year / county of registration / registration number ( this starts at 1 each year in each county allthough 1 is usually allocated for Mayoral vehicles but others can be reserved at a cost )
I had a non prefix / suffix registration number for over thirty years and was initially a bit pissed when I registered the car over here ,after selling the number in UK , but it actually is an OK system as everyone has their year of registration displayed and you soon get over it and best of all there are no awful chavy plates that seem to be on every car in UK now.

I was almost right ............ just not necessarily in the right order!
