Cam removal?
« on: 02 February 2012, 13:39:44 »

Thinking of taking the silver beast off the road for a while as it needs some titivation one thing being a noisy lifter which I know will involve taking the cams out but do these just lift out with the sprockets on when the cam bearing caps are taken off or do the sprockets need removing first? not delved this deep before!

Not answering your question, but when you remove the caps make sure you put them in the order you've removed them, so they go back in the same place. :y

If you are careful you can re-use the camshaft seals.

If you want to fit new seals you will need to separate the cam sprockets from the camshaft.
