Bulk Head Heater Hoses
« on: 01 February 2012, 13:04:58 »

Just wondering if this should be replaced  or is it ok ?

Yesterday when I managed to remove the "special release"heater hose clips I noticed that the bottom pipe with the White ring had no push down clip on it as it appears to have been broken off sometime in the past.I still managed to get the hose off and it appears to have sealed against the peice of 15mm copper pipe I have used as a bypass connection.

Should I think about renewing this pipe due to the broken spring clip ? or is this merely an aid for removal.

no, but you should be thinking about removing the copper pipe.

Piece of pipe is only a short term solution allowing me to use the car until I can get a replacement Heater Matrix, hopefully by early next week. ;)

It was a matter of needs must as MOT expires tomorrow so needed to be able to atleast drive the car. :'(

Do I then assume the copper will cause issues with the coolant ? if left in for any length of time
