got in my miggie earlier and noticed the mileage on it is---234,993 So is that that very high?? still runs fine-Is there anyone else out there on as many miles??

That is a high mileage for any vehicle, but if it has been looked after (eg, serviced on time, etc) there is no reason it shouldn't carry on working. A friend of ours racked up 300,000 miles in his Zetec Mondeo and it ran just as well (sometimes better) than examples with one third that mileage.

Similarly we had a diesel Xantia many years ago that we pretty much gave away which had managed 353,000 miles, and that eventually died at 380,000 although the person we gave it to didn't open the bonnet from one week to the next so it may very well have gone on longer if they had bothered with it.

well every saturday check all fluids,tyres etc-dont like tv-100s of channels of rubbish,and if i see something once-its on again a few days later!!!! Oh I also hoover the interior-have my lunch in it and bung the rubbish on floor on passenger side  for some reason mrs moans about it This weekend is oil an filter change.

Mines a 1996 with 99000 miles. Nice and low for the year.

Mine. Had 40k when I bought it September 2010 and its now just rolled over 52k. Always changed the oil every 3 to 4 months and kept breathers clean. Covering the basics regardless of miles should see them last.

Mine is about to go past 263000, regular oil changes and breathers cleaned every few months. still runs great!
