Took the mig to the folks house over the weekend near inverness
Took the new front & rear discs & pads, gear box oil, filters & gaskets to borrow their garage( big enough to get the mig in with about a metre either side - bliss)
I ended up assisting my dad as he tore into the brakes with gusto. rear calipers are furb'd, so the fronts got changed & the gearbox oil & filter was changed.
During the day the mig was turned round on the driveway to back it into the garage. As I nosed it into the corner of the drive to spin it round, I didn't notice the 6-8 inch high post that secures the gate open. it went into the wheel arch on full lock, when opposite lock was on, the funny noise came from this.
Oops

It looked shocking, but to be fair to the car, it mostly clipped back together again, with a bit of new metalwork from my dad.
I need to share the great idea my dad had for filling the gearbox oil. An old brake fluid changer was used. it has a filler bottle, with an outlet pipe & a tyre adaptor. it uses the tyre pressure to blow 1/2 a litre of oil in in a few minutes. great bit of kit.
