Ah that makes perfect sense. So from ~2015 or so you'll have no option but to like it or lump it, so to speak

Probably... No plans AFAIK to make them a compulsory retro-fit though

Mind you, I tend to leave a minimum of sidelights on all the time in the van anyway, easy enough to turn the switch when needed and they go on/off with the ignition anyway

I meant if someone wanted a new car You're right, they couldn't mandate a retro-fit (hopefully!). Although it might mean my period replica kit car ends up with LED DRLs... I don't think anyone is quite sure what the law will be on that, yet.

At this time of year I have the lights on the car pretty much constantly - although you'd think a big Omega would be easy to spot. Granted green does tend to blend with the undergrowth quite well..

Never ceases to amaze me the number of people who don't have their lights on in fog/mist/dusk though - I suspect 'automatic' lights and DRLs will only make this worse.
