Freezing rain

Infinitely more dangerous than snow, IMHO. Seems like quite a few crashes have occurred in Cumbria.

Yep. Experienced this a couple of years back on an alarming scale.  Fortunately I noticed the sheen on the tarmac and slowed down. More than can be said for the driver of the 3 series that went barreling past at 80MPH and then started playing pinball between the barriers.

Shortly afterwards I came across a double decker bus straddled across both lanes of a dual carriageway, on full opposite lock, but still progressing in the right direction. I followed it the whole way home at 10 MPH, watching the back end step out every so often. :o

With the attention level of most drivers these days, I fear the worst.

Years ago, roads were very icy, so I was driving slowly, a Cavilier driver came past at high speed, 10 minutes later I trundled round a bend and past him as he was scratching his chin and contemplated how he was going to get the car out of the ditch. The tortoise definitely won that day.  ;D ;D ;D

Yeah freezing rain, and you still get the idiots bombing past you, right up behind etc, driving too fast, skidding and crashing causing chaos for everyone else. These retards never learn and have to be told the same thing every year. Retards
