Kia Shuma, which the miggy replaced

It had TERRIBLE build quality, very poor MPG for a family hatch, the 1.6 petrol was hardly a warp engine it oculd be eassily outrun by the TD in our mig. Not enough space, shocking depreciation,m uncomfortable, poor ride quality, tiny fuel tank.... the list goes on

my car history is this:   Mk11 Vauxhall Cavalier
                                  Ford Sierra, hatch, 1.8
                                  Ford Mondeo, estate, 1.8 MK1
                                  Kia Shuma, hatch, 1.6
                                  Vauxhall Omega, Estate, 2.5TD
Had the cav probably 4 years, same for sierra, mondeo was 7 years, kia was 2 years and Omega been a coupla months

I suppose there are a couple of bad ones, notably a 0.8l Suzuki Alto which would barely manage 50mph - or an automatic Triumph Acclaim - absolute heap!

I had an Acclaim, it was a good car, wouldn't go round corners though.  Very tidy, not bad in a straight line. Came from your neck of the woods - Fordham (bought it of my gran, so it truely was one careful lady owner ;D)

Morris Ital 1.7 Estate.

In all fairness, the only things I ever remember having to fix on it were the heater fan motor and the alternator oh, and the annual front lower trunnion change that was a formality just before MOT time, and of course patching up the rust. ::)

It also did me proud for carrying all my clutter / pi$$3d mates around when I was a student.

Zero appeal in its' styling. Every other car I've ever had I could stand back and look at with a little bit of pride, after I'd washed it, but not the Ital. It was an ugly pig no matter how clean or from what angle.

And then there was the dynamic capabilities of the chassis / suspension. Used to cringe before every corner. Had it had the 1.3 engine I would have just accepted it as a crap car, but it actually could be hustled along reasonably well between corners, which made the handling even more frustrating.

had to think long and hard about this, have had a great many cars. The worst would be a Fiat Panda, bougt in a rush as an 'interim' car, did it's job though.
Not too pleased with current Mig either though, must get it sorted, acting as a garden shed at the mo :-[

Worse vehicle I've ever been responsible for was a works Ital van. What a crock of shite!  Went through an alternator every fornight, and a battery every 3 months.  Used to hate it in the winter, as if I had the lights, wipers and heater on together, it would break down.

The mechanics were chasing electric issues with that thing for years, in the end one of them kicked it in temper, and the front bumper and drivers mirror simultanteously fell off ;D.  The gave me a Maestro van the next day, much better (so that shows how bad the Ital was!)

Either the singer chamois, wide wheels, t bar gear shift, rally seats, which had radiator issues and about 30 miles range before top up needed, or the ex vauxhall viva rally car with a 2300 lump fitted. Only did about 35 miles in it in my younger days.

Hi all,
showing off here, but, I once owned a 1973 Moskvich 412 Saloon. A Russian piece of cheap crap.
It was the colour of diarrhoea & turned sharp right every time I hit the brakes. (Saved a bloke's life once!)  He just stepped out in front of me, I stood on the brakes & finished on the pavement.
Worst car in the world.

Slime.

Were they 2 stroke or just very smokey ? I have vague memory of a Moskvich being owned by a local doctor when I worked at the garage as a kid - early 60's - no such thing as self service then ... "Fill her up sir ? and would you like your tyres checked ??" - hoping they said  "4 gallons of best and keep the change" ... 4s 11d a gallon and they gave you a pound note ...  a 4d tip !!! ... used to get 6d for checking tyres  :)

Suddenly feel very old ... :(
