Honestly Chris....if it had just been about the events, which I enjoyed immensly, I would be a happy bunny. :y
But it was all the attempted brainwashing before, during , and now after, that does my head in.
We are now being told that all the kids in the land are going to rush off to the gym, and take up all sports ever invented. 'My ar$e'. They may go to the gym, buts only to get fit enough to outrun the police ;)

I bet you that in a month, or lets say after the Para's, it will all be forgotten, white elephants will appear (remember the Dome).
Whenever Wimbledon is on, all the kids in the street appear with tennis racquets for a fortnight, then swapped for footballs for the season, then out come Cricket bats. Been like that since I was a kid :y

For my two penneth, I thought the games were a triumph, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the sports the highs and the lows ( with the exception of you know what), suffering withdrawl now  ;D ;D

A lesson on how to put on a show, and we got nearly as many medals as the rest of the EU put together ;D ;D :y :y

I thought the games were a great success, even if the expected "spending" of the masses in London didn't happen.

I am, however, disgusted that the dedicated Olympics channels have disappeared already and that the Paralympics aren't going to be getting the same coverage. Let's hope that channel 4 do us proud with decent coverage.

In this modern day of "Including Everyone", wouldn't it have been a real Olympic "Legacy" if the Paralympians were given the same recognition? ::)

Indeed.

Why couldn't their events have been integrated into the main games so they could share the atmosphere?

Speaking of the Paralympics - I saw something this morning stating that wheelchair users can only be accompanied by one other person; so if you are in a wheelchair and have a wife/husband and kids, you get to sit on your own.. at the Paralympics.

Ah, inclusive! ;D
