Pete. Some words are acceptable, within reason, to some whilst other words are unacceptable to most others.

My point is that the 'c u next Tuesday' one falls into the latter.

Personally I use it verbally as an extreme explecative in some very limited situations but I would not use it as a written/typed word (other than on here to explain a point) as I know that it is a word unacceptable to most women and as such, do not see it as necessary on here.

I think most people would find Next Tuesday offensive, its not a word you would use in front of a stranger.  Bloody, bleeding, damn, shit and crap, well, you might in certain environments.

I'm certainly no prude, but I find certain words unacceptable to be used in public.

I understand what you're saying H. I'm also an Admin on an HSV site. We have opted for a blanket ban on swear words, we find that works better. I've sat for ages thinking of profanaties & changing them to other words with the word filter. At the end of the day blokes will be blokes :y
I'm also a member on an Australian HSV forum & they have a section called "Bar Talk" where any thing goes. The rest of the forum is slightly more strict (slightly), but the Australians aren't as prude as us ;D

i dont know why any swear words are allowed.
if iam belting something and it slips and hits me i might swear, but that is spur of the moment it slips out and i cant take it back, but if iam posting something i can read through it and take it back.

Well reading back at some of the posts i've made in the last day or so that have been modified, I take it that this topic is aimed squarely at me so if my choice of language on here at times has genuinely offended someone (scrabble players checking my spelling not included), I apologise.  No offence was intended.
When I type something on here, it comes straight from the heart and if it is something I feel strongly about, it shows in my language.

Personally I think some folks need to lighten up a little on here but at the end of the day, its upto admin / mods how the forum is run.

Hugs and kisses

Not just you TG but you are up there with the others.

Guidelines are for all to abide by, admin included, but I personally feel that standards have slipped somewhat of late and I am reminding all of the line in the sand, so to speak.

Thanks for your understanding.

As a long standing member who does not post very much, if at all, i do find the language on this forum has slipped, I am not a prude at all, i seem to suffer like all us males to use the wrong choice of words on occasions but i do think there should be some standards on the forum, especially the OOF forum, as it is one of, if not the best forum on the internet.

Just my thoughts,, all derogatory comments welcome.. :D  Except comments from STMO.. ;)

Keep up the good work everyone.

The 'Name of the Game' is drawing the line at the right point, IMHO
