New Omega A owner from Brazil
« on: 16 October 2012, 03:06:48 »

Hello everyone, I live in Brazil and am also the owner of an Omega, here existed versions with engines C30NE, C20NE and a revitalized version by Lotus of the GM 250 U.S., which is what I own, with some improvements =)

The Omega is a 1996 naturally aspirated powered by ethanol and managed by EMS MegaSquirt MS1 with approximately 300 bhp.

It has been my everyday car and drag racing eventually

There are still several things I want to improve in performance and solve some problems such as the driveshaft coupling that breaks easily with some burnouts = P

I hope to learn a lot and contribute on this forum

There is a youtube channel and a picasa album to know a little more about the car and the project...

Intresting stuff, looks impressive!

The Omega that you have is what we call a Carlton in the UK. We got them with various four cylinder engines, six cylinder 2.5 2.6 and 3.0 (possibly like the C30NE you get?) and a C30SE twin cam 24valve, over 200hp with a 150mph top speed, lovely engine ruined by fragile timing chains. And of course not forgetting the legendary Lotus Carlton.

So the engine you have in yours is an updated version of the old 250ci Chevy straight six? Wow, didn't know they made them so long, or that Lotus had played with them, and certainly didn't know you could get 300hp out of them!! What does it run over the quarter mile?
