HBV valve MV6 V6
« on: 30 October 2012, 20:05:13 »

Hello

I have a problem. The HBV valve in my MV6 is not the original. Well it is if my car should be a Diesel car but now it is not.
I need to get some information how to rebuild it so I can have the original part.
First it is only two water pipes on this one I have. On the original HBV it is 3 water connections. Therefor it is one water hose what is missing and I have no idea where to put the missing hose.
Can someone please help me with some pictures or schematics?
The Omega MV6 I have is a 1996 years model station wagon.

Ok I have been looking there but I cant see how the water hoses is connected in the car. Due to that one of the hoses is missing I don't know where to connect it. On the HBV valve is no problem, there I know. But how to connect them to the engine or watersystem I don't know. Need some help there with a photo or a drawing or something.

Apologies, I misunderstood slightly.
One of the experts will be along shortly, but do you have the missing pipe at all? Has the car been used with the HBV with only two pipes?
Not sure if there has been a conversion done, but someone with more knowledge will be along soon to guide you  :y

I relly don't know All I can find is that the car is equiped with this HBV from a disel 2,2 or something The HBV has only two pipes. Maybe they have been modifying it when they mounted the extra parking heater in to it.
The car is imported from Germany so there is no info what so ever about it here in Sweden.

So the current setup has only two pipes, but you want to revert to three?

Yes I want to install the original one with three pipes so I can get some heat in the car. There is no heat inside it.

From memory the HBV on a v6 is plumbed into the heater matrix and the electrical coolant pump mounted to the inner wing, I'm guessing your car doesn't have this part fitted...

 :o :o :o That can't be good!!!!

Surely the original pipework must be there somewhere, maybe blanked off?
Oh and btw - nice looking car  :y

The pump is there but I doubt that it is plugged in correctly. It is used for the parking heater. Also I heared that is should be two of this pumps in my car. And the second one should bypass the cooling radiator in some how. But there is only one.
Yes the HBVis connected as you say but there is one pipe missing on the HBV so it has only two pipes (should be 3).

In this pic you can see two hosepipe pieces (green at top, yellow at bottom). You should have two heater hoses connected there which are fed through the HBV for the heater
