help please
« on: 10 December 2012, 23:03:39 »

hi every 1 not been on for a while as been busy but i need your help please :)
now I have a 3.0 v6 omega that has a problem that is driving me nuts now
so from start up from cold it is fine, revs up ok and is like a roket but after abut 20 min it starts to feel abit down on power and when at a constant speed it feels like it is surging like asthou 1 bank is lower on power to the other and it also will NOT rev past 3500 rpm(bounces like it hits the limiter but slower) and no EML light or any other warning light comes on at all. i however have had a new coil pack,HT leads, plugs, fuel filter, oil and filter change and a blanked egr valve
so if any 1 has any idear what it could be please let me know as it will be much appreciated

...and no EML light or any other warning light comes on at all.

Does it come on with the ignition lights when you first start the car?

managed to have a look at it and changed the IAV and the MAF no change so while it was running i unpluged the cam sensor and EML came on (flikering) but still was the same then unpluged the crank sensor still the same but no EML light.
so im going to get the cam and crank sensors as there what most have advised me that it could be just hope i get it sorted soon as not got much cash to throw at it.

has any 1 else had this sort of problem ?

Changing cam and crank sensors without proper diagnostics is likely to be just a waste of your hard earned mate - have you paperclipped it?  Any codes?

Its in limp mode which means the ecu is seeing a fault - you need codes reading - post codes up here to help diagnostics.

If its "sweet to drive" unlikely to be dodgy cam or crank sensor ;)

not being able to rev above 3500 sounds like a fueling problem, imp mode wont allow above rev above 1500.
change fuel filter also you could have some dodgee fuel not unknown these days,

Been throu 3 tanks of fuel at different stations already and have a new filter since . I have though it could be my fuel pump on its way out or the pressure reg not working correctly ?

make sure all vacum pipes are fitted correctly on the pressure regulator, and.not leaking.
if you have a regulator then try it,dosnt sound like a sensor as no eml light,
