hi folks,have had to put code in before without eny problems but this time after battery let me down charged battery put code in was fine then battery let me down again,took battery out and next day as i was doing other work on car got new battery and fitted now when i put code in its not clearing had 3 attempts,so question is after battery being off for 24 hours does radio go to factory setting or what could have gone wrong the code is the one ive used before but shes never been disconected for so long.? this is on my 99 t reg omega steinmetz ,philips sterio with bose and multi changer and telephone

Easy answer, despite what you think you are entering, I can confirm the this is a classic scenario of using an incorrect code.

3 wrong attempts means radio and Ignition switched on for two hours to reset the penalty timer that has come into play - then enter the correct code - don`t keep entering the one you have been using as your radio has already told you thee times now, thats  its the wrong code, but you are not listening !!

yep your spot on im a complete idiot was trying to put in the code for the old traffic master lol,but what i didnt know is that the ignition or car needs to be running so as the time wait clears and the system beeps so you can put the correct code in. old age creeping up doh.all sorted just waiting for replacement top mount as ive had one fail at 12 mths and 7300 miles pain in the arse,replaced every thing when i put new a-bach springs in didnt expect mount to seize and have to pull it apart again.
