Didn't Ford call the Mk5 Cortina something other than the Mk5, given how similar it was to the Mk4? Quick Google - "Cortina 80". Indeed.

Vauxhall do a lovely metallic vomit colour on the Corsa, my boss has one and I keep meaning to ask him if he's had his eyes tested, but I fear I'd end up on a charge...

Was it a new Focus?

no mate. that's quite a nice colour.
this is a matt finish that's a disgusting mix of aubergine, grey and brown  :-\

It was called Tuscan Beige - I had one from new, a 1981 1.6L Estate  :y

Woaaaa - hold on, that pic is actually of a Mk4. The Mk5s had black plastic door mirrors mounted in the front corners of the doors as opposed to the mirror mounted on the door itself as in this picture. There were other differences as well - but it was 32 years ago so the old memory isn'y what it was. IIRC the L upwards had A frame head restraints and a clock + trip distance meter which the older ones didnt have.

As above .... they're ALL MKIVs  ;)  ;)  It's just that the last were MKIV 1980 series  ::)  ::)

If its was a newish car, then it could be their electric white. Which is nice on a sunny day, but on a cloudy day appears a horrible pale bluish grayish tinge.

Baby Granada  :) loved the Granada , had 3, one in each shape as below....

My first one was same colour as this, bought for £250 in 1991


Next I had a burgundy one of these, minus the lights of course  :D.....


And finally I had the 2.9 Scorpio Cosworth, same colour as this...
