chrisgixer has decided that it was time for him and OOF to part company.
He learned a lot, technically, from OOF when he first joined, and I know was keen to pay that back by helping others, either physically or by advice online. As far as I'm concerned he put in more that he took from OOF, so I think he accomplished his goals over the past 2 to 3 years.
I know he wasn't the most articulate with his prose - not helped by that bloody gayPad of his - and I think felt frustated by (and others equally frustrated by him) not being able to get his point of view across, but I'm sure that most people who have met him and got to know him (I know he felt uncomfortable in crowds of people) will agree that he was an approachable, helpful, friendly OOFer who had a real desire to help fellow OOFers.
I think him leaving is a sad loss for OOF to be honest, and secretly hope he will return soon. However, I suspect he won't, so on that basis, I'd like to wish him all the best for the future, and thank him for all the help he has given me personally, and to the help he has given members.

Chris was the very first person that I spoke to personally from OOF and I found him approachable and easy to speak to. Having met him personally a few times since at meets, I found him sociable but in a quiet way. He is knowledgeable and inquisitive and as said, happy to advise or help.
I admit that as he was so easily approachable, I tended to speak to Chris first at meets before mingling with the others.
Meeting him personally, I found that he is nothing like his online persona, but this is also true of some others I have met through OOF.

Whatever Chris decides to do, I wish him all the best, and that's not just because he said I make a lovely cup of tea.

Regards
Alan
