16 is a good innings and i'm sure she has had a great life and put a hell of a lot of smiles on peoples faces but at the end of the day .............. you do what's best for the cat  :(

Know just how it feels.Ours got to 21 and then go to the point where it would have been selfish to have prolonged things. Twas a very sad day indeed.
He was an evil vicious, cantankerous old beast,but an integral member of the family. :(

I'm really sorry to hear this Paul, the words 'Family Pet' doesn't even come close to giving a true description of how much they become just 'Family'  :(

Unfortunately she deteriorated over the course of Wednesday evening and night so she went to sleep for the last time yesterday morning. She's settled in the garden now in a nice sunny spot. Sleep well my little Princess :'(

The only positive we can take is that less than 36 hours beforehand she was fine :y

Sorry for your loss, it is very sad to lose any pet they truly are a family member, but I am sure she had a good life with you ..
