I'm also 24, my insurance is £60 a month on a 4 litre Disco - pretty reasonable. That's with directline.

im affraid thats a no to 200 quid can weigh it in as scrap for that!!!

There is a beauty facelift estate near me going for £1500, I wish the landy had already gone - I'd go buy it!!

I think you'll struggle to get anything like 1k for the car given the soaring cost of fuel and the Omega's relatively high running costs. Unfortunately with a nasty recession on the horizon the buying public and motor trade need these big old beasts like they need a dose of Gonorrhea. You'll probably get a better price by breaking it for spares. Any prospective buying will want £200 off for a pair of decent tyres and if the dreaded tinworm of doom has taken hold on the rear wheelarches it would cost more to put right then the cars worth.
If the cars a half decent runner you may be better off keeping hold of it. I speak as the happy owner of a 98 3 litre Elite manual, fault free with 70k on the clock (and Carin still works).
Its a great old car but realistically worth very little these days on the present car market.  ;D ;D ;D

to be fair rust on my arch's is only little and nothing major like a say its had cambelt done and crank sensors and i replaced 2 tyres with yoko a539's! and runs like a dream cost of fuel is not a problem looking at buying a golf vr6 mk3 so fuel cost not a problem begrudge paying stupid money on car insurance that is in respect a slow car.!!!!
