I have never used Autoglass. I have always used an independent fitter and paid them direct.

The upside is that they are working directly for you and do the work when and where you want.

15 years ago it cost me £100 to have a screen fitted to my Carlton. Last year it cost £150 to have a screen fitted to SWMBO's Golf.

The dozy bint from autoglass threatened to hang up. I didn't swear at her, I wasn't rude, I was just pointing out that I'm not interested in systems failures, the logistics of carrying portable covers or whether of not they have enough staff. I am a customer. Quite a reasonable, patient customer (even to the point I'm prepared to do a 50 mile round trip to take the car to them). I just don't like being taken for a ride.

I know if I hadn't called them back, I'd still be waiting for a call next week.

'tards. I really do hope the insurance send me a survey.

You'd make a good villain... quiet and unassuming, with just a hint of mischievous menace  ::)

Or should we just call you Daz ;D

Did that to a taxi driver once. That'll teach him for charging me £50 to get home, then driving at 40 MPH the whole way, despite it being an empty dual carriageway the whole way. >:( It's not my fault the train network went tits up and I was too pissed confused to find the right rail replacement bus. >:(
