hi guys, im by no means a mechanic but i have never had trouble changing a wheel before i undone all 5 bolts but wheel wont budge is there sum hidden bolt or something feels like its still bolted, has anyone had this problem. help please.

Make sure car is well supported then give the wheel/tyre a few kicks alternating between 9 o/clock and 3 o/clock

Nope, more Weet-a- Bix required in the mornings, use a club hammer on the wheel if ness.

i think your right with the weetobix, im only 50 but even the spare wheel feels like it weights a ton, thanks for the advice thougt i would check before i start laying into it with a hammer im a little heavy handed cracked my sump once by over tightening the sump bolt.

Very common complaint on Omegas, especially with alloy wheels. If it has not been off for some while rust will have built up and stuck it on.

If the tyre on the stuck wheel is OK, or can be inflated short term, proceed as follows. Replace all the wheel nuts, tighten them, then undo them all half a turn. Go for a short drive, about a mile. This will break the rust bond. Jack up car, remove wheel nuts, remove wheel. If still stuck repeat but drive 3 miles. Once off, wire brush wheel and hub, grease and reassemble.

I used to hit them with a heavy hammer, lie on my back and kick them, waste of time. Above method works every time. Every car I buy, first job is to get the wheels off.

Before you whack it atleast put some of the bolts back on so the wheel dont come flying off

I wonder if you can confirm what I heard/read somewhere? Coppaslip is wonderful stuff, but I heard tell that it can compact under extreme pressure and make undoing threads difficult/impossible, hence its use on wheel nuts might be contra-indicated?

thank you all for your help,1 wheel off, 3 to go tomorow . i have cleaned it and greased it shouldnt be a problem again.

Stuck alloy wheels are a common problem.
I find the easiest and safest way to remove them is to whack them off from behind with a length of 2x4. This is better than a hammer as it won't damage the wheel, and you can get a nice swing on it.
But you must do it with the car on a decent jack(axle stand would be better), and with the wheelbolts screwed in by a couple of threads.

I would suggest NOT to clobber 10 shades of sh1te out of your rims with a mallet/timber/other. In the past I've unstuck rims by slackening the bolts by a turn or so, and in a distance of your average driveway (Opti Towers excluded  ) accelerate & then stand on the brakes. It might make a bang when it lets go but that usually does the trick.

both the back ones done now, but the front will not budge, going to have to go round block with wheel nuts, loose.

thanks for all your help, they are all done now, and fall off when i undo the wheel nuts,just how they should be.
