Two little ones to bed!! And work! Don't iron though!
Oil change number 2 scheduled for the week end, I'm liking getting my hands dirty! Wanted to do motor vehicle engineering at school but dad wouldn't let me! Wouldn't let me drive till i was 18 either!

Cant fault you Ljay, it's a pity that more women dont take up even the basic mechanics of the motor car.

An ex of mine talked me into buying an Astra GTEback in 84 (she liked the colour) and at the time I quite fancied the car.  But I commented on the fact you cant just buy a car based on colour you need to know more about what you are actualy buying.

Anyways, got the car, got the Haynes, she disappeared for a bath one night and took the book with.  Well yeah, I thought.  Whatever.

About 6 weeks later, we came out of a restaurant and 2 coppers walked over to us, we get the cheeky comments of "Hello, hello hello, what ave we got ere then" and lets ave a looksie under the bonnet.

I lifted the bonnet and one PC imdeiately looks complicated, to which Mel (my girlfriend) chirped up straight away saying, no it is'nt really, thats the air box, there's a butterfly flap in there that works in conjunction with that butterfly on the air intake . . . . . then this connects to that....and the fuel injection this that and the other.

Well I was gobsmacked, the 2 PC's were astounded, she had looked at the layout and read the basic descriptions and digested the whole lot, wish I was a smart.   (There you go Ladie's a compliment)  Shame I could never talk into washing it and hoovering it out.    ;D ;D ;D
