Doesn't surprise me at all , unreliable, uncomfortable  & overpriced.

Well i didnt get a range rover,or a panda 4x4,omega sadly no,but i did get a 1995 discovery 300tdi,5 door,non sunroof model,never been used off road and had all welding done several years ago,and here it is

Well, it took a couple of goes to pass the last mot, and had rear chassis welding in 2014, floor welding the year before that, a patch in the boot floor the year before that...

Be needing a new n/s headlight and a drag link boot before April :y

I did see advisories and seen previous history,but i dont mind changing some parts for a new mot tho.

Very capable car off road (not quite in Defender league), and comfortable enough on road as a daily driver (unlike Defender). A good allrounder :y

From that era, they rust like hell, so will need keeping on top of. Engine isn't the most powerful, but reliable, easy to service, cheap to service, and will just keep chugging away. Rarely give too much trouble and will go on for ages (and anywhere) if you can control the rot.
