Trouble is, there are so many other cross model Vauxhall forums.  Do we need yet another?  I know some of the other big ones have all sorts of other issues, but I think the owners would do better trying to help the other forums get better, as, bluntly, they do not offer anything to attract people to use their own forum.

That one has obviously been running a few months, and virtually 0 posts.  Which implies to me, their owners may well have the enthusism, but not the knowhow.

Obviously I like to think that OOF members are not going over there piss taking.  Obviously, I can't prevent people doing that, only remove the link in a vain hope to prevent it.

Dont think any body meant any real harm TB, someone found it last night (empty), and a few OOF'ers decided to go for a swim, that time of night with or with out the Beer factor was just a bit of something new.   :y

Talking to the owner, they have a reason for this. They've not wanted to publicise it because they've been waiting on various resources before they want it to become active.

I have agreed to give them a bit of a hand (if only to learn more about how forums work, I've always been interested but never set one up) ... but I obviously won't be going away from OOF :y

I too would not like to see people taking the P!ss, especially signing up with names like cholostomy bag (I really hope that's not come from OOF) - :y

What resources are they short of out of interest?

What resources are they short of out of interest?

The main two I know of are -

People to help run the site (lots of people want to be a moderator, but few know exactly what it involves when a site gets big!)

Time to populate it (Various people have committed to writing the maintenance guides early in August)

Last night started as a "lets be thefirst to post " and have a giggle I suppose, If I had intended to get myself banned, do you think I would have joined as Skruntie.    I Dont Think So.   :y

Hmmm, not sure they are going the right way about it  :-/

You need members to post before get a whole load of mods in - then they choose an unknown (to that forum) moderator (congrats on your promotion btw).  I would get the members in and posting, then decide who would fit in best moderating  :-/

Need to get the members in, else the guides go unread ;)

Nothing like ambition :P

Seriously, if you get it right from the start, its the same involvement no matter how big - obviously the bigger, there is just more of it to do!

Must admit, they had 40+ members and no one had posted, the forum has been up since Feb.  seemed a bit odd.

Site owner is a member of (and looks at) other large forum's I am part of, so I'm not a total stranger.

I honestly don't know how or even if it will evolve, but I'm certainly going to welcome the opportunity to help out with it's development, if it could become something useful. :y
