I had a bad experience with Nexens stepping out... as did STMO.
Budget tyres on a 2.0 are fine but I'm not sure they'll cut it on my 3.0 - I may have to get some goodun's  

I think these ones are the newer CP641 or something like that.  Have to say, I was expecting them to be on a par with the Avons, but they are a revelation!

Done about 3k on them, no wear.  Bearing in mind your old ZZ3s I had were completely wiped out at 4k  

As said, not sure I'd stick them on the MV6 though  :-/

I will be putting 4 new ones on soon and the tyres i put on are called accelara and cost about £45 fitted each and that is at our local bathwick tyres but i do get discount there due the fact that there is five Omega's in the family and two of them do about 60,000 miles a year so we go though alot of tyres so if you do go and have a look they might be a few pounds more. I find these accelara to be a good all round tyre and i got about 26,000 on the front and about 31,000 on the rear

I use Nexen on the tractor, and they are better than the Avon ZZ3s I used to have on under all conditions I've tried so far.

Not sure I would use budget tyres on MV6 - I may have to swap the wheels over with tractor when I get MV6 aligned (mv6 has buckled wheels), so will see how it copes then.

I really like these accelara tyres and have been using them for a few years now but how do you find the Avon ZZ3s as i have them on my 3.0 (the car come with them on) and i dont like them cos i find that they get a hold of every rut in the road

I'm running Accelera Alpha's on the front, as recommended by a friend who has his own garage, and can't really fault them for £50 ish a corner, fitted. They're a bit hard but I've only managed to get them to let go once...... Braking very hard over a large puddle (deliberately) just to see what they do!!!

Great tyre james and if you need to change them when you get the car then you wont go far wrong with these and i think when the time comes to change the ones on my V6 then a set of these will be going on

I'd recommend you try the ones of the other car before committing to the choice to the v6...

Those Nexen CP641's are cheap enough.....£50+fitting here and 60+ fitting for the 17 inch ones.

Dunlop Sport 9090's from WIM - £85 a corner, slightly noisy but very good handling in all weathers so far.

I can't fault Nexen's as a budget choice, had them on the car originally, not in the league of premium brands but still very good.

Same as im using now.......still like Nankangs NS2's tho......unable to get hold of anymore at a reasonable price.......

I get the Accelara from Bathwich tyres too (Swindon) £47 ea fitted

on the gold one i was using SP9090 Dunlops and paying £90 a corner.....

front set lasted me 20K and the backs were well past 30K before they needed replacing.

Yes they are slightly more noisy than a comparable tyre but the grip and the fact that they wear well more than offsets that

I have SP9000's on the CDX, slightly cheaper and i'm not sure i would go with them again, they still step out on wet days, it seems that stepping out on corners is fairly normal with this one!!! and i'm not hoofing if
