On the bright side been informed by my gas supplier they owes me £600 :)
Not that i will see the cash,or any interest it is generating.
Is this due to overbilling on monthly direct debit ?
I have heard some horror stories about this system and refuse to sign up to it. :-/

And your dead right not too...my final bill from british gas was £50....then a few days later £400...disputed this so new bill week later £900....£800...£350 REFUND..bill £580....£830.....and im averaging 2 new bills a month.

Oh and not knowing i had TWO accounts with them..... :D

Id advise anyone too steer clear of british gas...prices are high, customer service terrible and the tell blatant lies....despite energywatch proving there lying they still insist on lying  ;D

And they're getting your interest on that..... >:(   I pay late and I get their interest....  Ba5tard5..... :D

We are capped at the moment with British Gas until 2010...  I'm seriously considering taking out the gas fire, which we do not use, and burning coal and wood, drop the combi temp to virtually nothing and fit more energy saving bulbs... :y

My wife is having an exercise cycle with a dynamo fitted so that we can watch telly too ;)

Other than that, it's live in the towable home... :-X

Since my £100 per month leccy bills first started arriving, I've been on an energy drive - low energy bulbs, lower powered server, phones charged at work, more efficient laptop, lights off when not in use, down to 1 fridge freezer (from fridge freezer, fridge and freezer) etc.  This has kept leccy bill stable to £100 per month, despite the increases over last 18-24 months.

Not sure how to reduce it further? Turn off the OOF server? :o

In my flat we're on a pre-pay key meter which works out to around £60.00 a month at the moment. We tend to put £20 on it every 10 days which might work out a bit dearer than having a normal meter but then we don't have any unpleasant surprises every quarter. ::)

I've voted, but mine's so bad I can only afford to switch my PC on to cast it; now I have to switch off again if I am going to afford a loaf of bread for this week! :o :o :D :D ;D ;D ;)

£224 converted from euros. Electric is so expensive in Spain. Like most countries (Britain excepted) you contract what electric supply you might need , in our case 5.5Kw. If you use more you get surcharged!! That no doubt is a remnant from Francos days and explains much of the lack of customer service ethos.

All meters are read every two months without fail no matter how rural the premises. No estimated bills and the only option for payment is direct debit. :o

Some people very erroneously think Spain is a cheap country to live in. ;D
