Which tbh, imo contradicts your earlier post in this thread James. To me, that post was offering Kate first refusal on the car if the ebay sale didn't happen.

It may read like that to you, but you are not aware of the private conversations that took place between kate and I, which, out of respect to her, will remain private -

other than to say what she already has: that I did honour my offer to her, which was subsequently also declined, and the reason it was only then offered  elsewhere.

James did offer me first refusal but I turned him down as it was over my budget

A) kate had been given first refusal
B) kate decided not to go ahead
C) the next “refusal” was given to the other interested member
D) kate reconsidered and asked if the car was still available, by which time it wasn’t.

You are not privy to the private conversations that took place. I have not gone back on my word to anyone.

Please enlighten us as to why you feel the need to pick at another member over something that is of absolutely no concern to you?

If it seems contradictory because other parts of the conversation were private, then why post those parts publicly and cause confusion ?
Anything posted publicly can be legitimately deemed to be worthy of consideration and concern for anyone else who reads it, and then has a right to comment on it
I didn't accuse you of going back on your word. Simply stated that what was publicly posted contradicted another publicly posted statement.

Of course, as often then happens, it turned into one of those conversations, where we each feel the need to explain ourselves and defend our standpoint.

Without wanting to be rude, to find an omega in your budget, that won’t need work, will be some mean feat. But if you want to take a chance on, for example, one with an oil cooler failure or similar level fault, if it comes up, I will help you out with the fitting at no cost

A bit of a late response, but the idea of you, James, behaving dishonourably or ignobly is about as likely as my being engaged as Prima Ballerina in Swan Lake!
