That was the week I lent my K reg Vauxhall Viva HB to a good friend as his Datsun Sunny had been written off. On the Friday he rang me to say the brakes had failed completely!!

i was 18 so i would have been in the showboat amusement arcade wasting my weeks money in slot machines. (sad but true i had a gambling addiction -which i can say i grew out of at 19 when i was told by a relative the chances of getting a jackpot!!!!) :y

Like The Boy, I was getting ready for my first day of High School. Arrived on first day  in friend's father's Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. Felt a million dollars as we arrived in style. Caused some consternation as we were all from the "Rough" side of the city and so questions such as "Where the *&!? did they get that?" were raised. Made us laugh!!! ;D
