You could've bought a box full ie 4 x 5 litres of semi-skimmed oil for that from Vauxhall on Trade Club. You wouldn't have got the 'free' screwdrivers though.  ;)  :y

5L GM oil less than £10, and a GM filter is... £1 !

Everyone says small cars are cheap to run? i could do 3 oil changes for the cost of 1 of a pug 207!  ;D

£20 to www.autobahnstormers.org gets you a Trade Club card. then buy your oil from participating Vx dealer. You'll save a fortune on your first visit.. more than the cost of the card with ease !!

I posted this on another thread .. quick copy & paste for you ...

Quote
Anyone can get a card .. ABS membership requires an INTEREST in the omega V6 .. all 4 pot and oil burning owners are naturally jealous of the smoothness and power of the V6 .. you are therefore "interested" in them .. thus entitled to ABS membership and a trade card ... Smiley

As an example .. I assume all OOF members do regular oil changes. Recommended oil is Vx 10W40

Engine Oil - Semi synthetic 10W40 SL/CF A3/B4

Part No.        Retail Price        Normal Trade        Trade Club

5 litres      93165216      £25.65      £18.81      £10.77

so you save £15 on 5 litres of oil ... however .. there is also an offer on for TC holders ... 4 for the price of 3 ...

Semi synthetic 10W40
5 litre part number 93165216
Offer price for four cans £28.53

so you get £100 worth of oil for £30 !!! now that is a saving of 3 1/2 times the cost of the card !!

and we haven't started on filters, wipers, brake discs etc etc etc

Those figures are EXCLUDING VAT  ..... and have risen slightly recently .. but the idea remains the same ...

 ;D

found a 100 piece set of screwdrivers at maplins today including torx drivers for only £7, i shouldnt imagine they'll be of industrial quality but i reckon well worth £7!!

Halfords really did make me smile today (for once), took a bottle of Radweld to the till for swmbo's pug (for sale ;)) which had a shelf price of £4.99, i asked "any discount with this?" (frauds trade card) and he said "erm, thats £1.08 please"!!! I said "£1.08 off the original price?" and he said "no, its just £1.08"

;D well impressed!!
