I'm curious as to why , with all the aerial bombing that has been going on over Iran as a whole, that there seems to have been no ordinance dropped on the Naval base adjacent to the Straits of Hormuz.
I'd have thought that to ensure that IROI could not mine the international sea routes therin  they would have obliterated the base and it's supply and storage facilities.
The US carrier groups sailed through The Straits just prior to the US becoming involved so would it not makes sense that as soon as the first MOP dropped through the ceiling at Fordo the US and /or Israeli air force would have destroyed any Iranian ability to mine the straights.
China is one of the biggest consumer of oil passing through that route and I ask myself who else would benefit , and not necessarily financially , from a global shortage of oil especially if they were a self sufficient producer themselves ....Number one and number three perhaps  ?
Methinks that we, the minute pawns in this game of global power retention (and even distribution) , may have to dig deep(er) into our pockets very soon .

The US asked China to ask Iran not to disrupt the Straits. No doubt Russia are hoping they do disrupt so they benefit from the price increase.

As an aside haven’t Israel had the nuclear capability for maybe 60 years. It seems a bit rich expecting Iran not to. Israel hasn’t exactly covered itself with clean tactics over Gaza. One man’s freedom fighter is someone else’s terrorist and all that.

On Trump.Seems strange he can’t influence Putin ( maybe that though was all about  getting the Europe element of NATO to spend more and shoulder Ukraine) but he can do a bit of bombing when Netinyahoo whispers “ jump” in his ear.

Well.....if the ceasefire that Trump has announced this morning holds, and the Iranians are willing to come back to the negotiating table, then Trump has played a blinder. Of course, there will never, ever be a true ceasefire between Israel and Iran, they will keep secretly popping off each other's assets. But this development comes as a complete surprise to all of the so-called experts in the media.
To me, three things jump out; 1)Trump (or his advisors) are not as inept as first thought. 2)It has shown Putin and Xi what the American military are capable of. 3)We, the watching public, have no idea what is going on behind the scenes.
The unpredictability of Trump played a big part in all of this, let's hope his threat to cut NATO loose is just another ruse to get us to open our wallets.

If the fighting continues after what Trump has done to end it, he should cut Israel loose and let them get on with it. He's done his bit by trying to disable Iran's nuclear threat.

No one should think that allowing Iran to tool up with nuclear weapons is a good idea, whether a neighbour has them or not. 

The idea of a nuclear armed Iran is terrifying, as the mad mullahs are probably mad enough to use one.
