Difficult to deny the rate of warming has increased rapidly in the past 100 years. Whether we should (or even can) do anything to slow the rate down is a different question.

I think it will be a difficult 100 years until big population centres have environment controlled domes  We live in an incredibly narrow temperature range for life support or even comfort. 0C to 39C ?

Not going to happen - it's basically against the laws of Thermodynamics. To generate 'cold' you have to use energy, and you always generate more 'hot' than you can 'cold'. So you're just going to heat up the areas outside of the "environment controlled domes" quicker than would otherwise be the case.

Don’t disagree with the thermodynamics, however mankind moves on. It will happen one day. Who wouldn’t want an equitable climate with no rain or snow inconvenience. The problem is that “ we” cannot envision it anymore than folk two hundred years ago couldn’t imagine jet travel, rail or space travel. Mankind will not stand still. As to the heat emitted in order to achieve equitable dome temp. So what? Mankind is busy ruining the planet already. That is never going to stop. Man is an idiot .

Sorry - I've had a few pints, and it's too effin hot. But that is just blue sky thinking bollaux. Mankind might move on, but the laws of thermodynamics don't. Simply NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

Well the winds are picking up here, maybe a storm brewing and the temperature is dropping.  :)

Looks like we've put off the apocalypse for another day!  :y   ;D

Went into Asda for a few bits, including a boxed salad for wifey's tea. Nothing, shelves devoid of salad of any description. Called in the Co op on the way back. All fridges out of order, waiting for repair. No salad, no milk no cheese, nothing. FFS, what a useless little island we are.

Don't panic - Curry house will be open, as will the local Kebab shop. Lots of chilli sauce please :-)

I'm doing scampi. Wife likes hers with salad, I have mine with chips and a tartare sauce dip. No great loss to me.  ;D

I meant, go to the Kebab shop for lunch, order a large Doner with all the salad, and chilli peppers, mint sauce, chilli sauce, etc. Get home, scrape all the rabbit food off into a bowl, and get stuck into the Doner. Save the rabit food for the missus's tea. Job done.

Too late, I'm afraid. The bacon rashers are on the grill pan, waiting to be cooked to a crisp for my lunchtime butty. I can't decide whether to plop a fried egg on top. Decisions, decisions.

Then I've got to try and drag my little doggie away from the fan to take him out in 32° heat
