bass roll off
« on: Yesterday at 10:12:07 »

hi all .here is a question
the factory stereos (ccr2006 in my case ) have an inbuilt bass roll off as you turn the volume up .extensive googling and fiddling suggests you cant disable this .(not thesame as the SDVC feature which is adjustable) . reason for asking is ive just fitted rear 6x9 speakers as rear shelf bass units but the bass roll off means they dont realistically get any louder as you turn the volune up SO
my thinking is .....
1 ..add a rear amp to just bring them up to an acceptable level .(best option/easiest)
2..add a compensation/smart amp to add bass as it detects volume .
3... try to bypass the actual feature internally ??
4.. fit external 4 channel amp and try to find the internal joint between switching ic and power amp
5... different head unit (not happening !).

apparently the bass roll off is in the pre amp / tone control chip before the main amp so unless anyone knows a way to disable or fool it then it looks like an amp to just drive the rear speakers and feed them with bass only
