Remember a single 20l container is not much more than a 4 for 3 on 5l containers.

Kevin
And 4 for 3 is still available on 20l drums as well ;D

Yes. I've been tempted once or twice. ;D

... or indeed the 205l drums. :D

I find the 20l cans a bit difficult to handle, so have to decant into smaller containers...  ...which I can't be arsed for the extra cost ;D

You driving over this time? Can see them allowing 40l oil as hand luggage ;D

They are more of a pain to pour by hand, but the empty containers are more useful IMHO. You can also get the oil out more easily if you drill 2 holes in the cap, fit a pipe down to the bottom in one hole and a schrader valve in the other and pressurise with an airline/ foot pump. You can then decant into a smaller container or just run a hose straight into the oil filler on your engine. :y

I would be up for 20L. If we get another taker we could do a 4 for 3 on the big containers.

I used to get coolant in 20l drums, esp when the tractor was blowing its load all the time. Until I realised 4x5l coolant was cheaper ;D

The 20l empties are useful :y

I suspect you have hit an idea about group buying 20l cans though :y

I may be interested Kevin (need to check my oil reserves..)

I just rang Eden in Reading.  He said the prices did indeed go up at the weekend but not by much.

Net TC price for 3+1 cans of 4.5L  £38.18
(he said it was £37.82 last week but I am not convinced..)

He said 3+1 of the 20L cans was £208.96 - that is a lot more than the small cans - I wonder if he quoted me for 4 rather than 3.. :-/

Excellent, good to have a friendly (if not your local) parts man ;)

So, with offer, 4 x 5l is marginally cheaper than 1 x 20l by my calcs...

lol not very consistent with what I was told then..

I might try and buy at the 10.83 price tomorrow (which he told me was the new price ::)).

and the 20L price has come down? (apart from the 4/3 not being applicable any more - again different to what my chap said..)

Lol, Dad my partsman read me the bulletin which is where i got the info from.

If you can get the oil at the old price then do it quick.....as long as they do the 4 for 3!  :y
