Had a go with a friends at the weekend....over rated crap!

Yet again a good user interface but, gobbles batteries (didn't last long enough to do satnav for the 2 hour journey), tap the screen repeatidly and it crashes, the camera is still crap and the reception is not to hot either.

Plus, they are gay!

Given how big the dam things are, I often wonder why they didn't go for a large format as its already beyond the size of a pocket phone!

Thats its biggest strongpoint (perhaps also itunes integration, but I consider that a weak point!), yet can't help but feel that its not quite 'finished' - too many inconsistencies, and strange behaviour.

Worse for me, no (proper) Exchange integration.

Alledgedly these are fixed in 3g one (which kills batteries even faster), but i wonder, in true Apple style, what they broke in the process...

Wrong.  Nokia and Ericsson's 2nd attempt were ultra stable, and did as promised ;) - in fact most of the early phones worked well.

Wrong.  Nokia and Ericsson's 2nd attempt were ultra stable, and did as promised ;) - in fact most of the early phones worked well.

I still think they have done a grand job on their second attempt... few more and its there.

Would love a lo fi site to use on my Diamond, even though it displays the site perfectly, it would be nice to have a faster site for when I can't cat HSDPA and Wifi!!

Not currently. No plans by forum developers, as they are concentrating on next major version.

Unless development stops, too big a job to add (as it needs to be redone after every update).

lmao! why not just get an n95 (works well on the internet, built in gps, doesnt kill the battery within two hours with satnav on)
i'v been to newquay with it on and didnt die and also went across to london from newquay and it didnt die, it had been getting charged though through the holiday in newquay

N95 is a gay phone.  Its actually one of those phones that really piss me off.  And its gay.  Not quite as gay as Apple's gayPhone though.

I would have to concede that reliability has got better with the later firmwares, but if you want a proper smartphone, get a bloody windows one.  If you want a decent phone for making calls, get a Nokia 6310.

I have to disagree on the windows phone front, having had several they are unstable as a drunk man at sea.  Iuse the E90 day to day, and yes i know its used to build houses, but its awesome.

the size means lovely web browsing, and enough screen space to view and edit all work documents, mail for exchange or blackberry connect (mail for exchange is better) gives me my email, calendar and contacts, a citrix program lets me remote access the server, and use it, rather than try to navigate round a desktop on a phone screen, and i'll not go on bout all the other great stuff.  I also use a htc touch pro, and it is lame, even with registry tweaks.

More on topic however, if you tell your phone not to load/display html the site loads up in a lofi version, which is slightly harder to navigate, and not too much faster.

oh, and for all the iphone lovers this site sums it up perfectly, written by a genius

LOL!! Thats funny!! Agree totally about the iPhone. I disagree about the HTC Touch though!! With the right ROM it performs great! I have the Diamond but its practically the same phone.

recently changed the htc for a sony erection x1.
Windows mobile as it should be i ecpect. No crashes, fast, and all in a great phone.
