I actually own a Vango Sigma 300 but its not the 300 Plus. Great little tent for the money. Only paid £40 last year. The 300 Plus just has an extra porch which is handy for bags and shoes etc.

I also have a Vango Venture 500 which is better for longer stays. Got some bad reviews for being wobbly in high wind, but it stood up to a right pounding in the lakes last year. It did wobble but flexing is good for a tent!!

This is the one I am intrested in or like you say the one with the porch on both ends. It sounds as though it wont get condensation inside with having plenty of ventilation. Have you been camping in it when it has rained? just wondering if 2000hydrostatic head is ok?

I have only used it once and it only rained a bit. Altough I will say this, My Venture 500 which has a 1500 rating I think, Didn't let a drop in last year in the lakes and that was the worst storm I have ever seen! So 2000 should be fine.

In which case I don't think like you guys say I can grumble for the money, plus there will be more room than the Barbie tent. The porch thing will come in handy I suppose in making breakfast for us both :y

The Greenhouse is a PITA to put up and down, esp for a weekend, but I like to have the space to stand up and have room to put stuff.  If it rains, plenty of room to cook and eat inside.  I also need a lot of room for our Queensize airbed.

Its ideal for longer trips, but takes about 30-45mins to erect and pack up, which is quite long.  Obviously, with Mrs TheBoy insisting on taking the contents of our home, its takes much longer to get it all set up inside ;D

i had a great big 12 birth tent
massive seperate room's you can easly walk round witout having to duck your head
that used to take about 40 mins to put the tent up then extra time to set the inner tents up
plus getting all the beds and cooking stuff etc etc set up
half the day gone there

im looking at getting a slightly smaller 1 for the meet in newent
i might see if i can pick up a small trailer save on boot space in the mig

I think its Base Camp 5

Came from http://www.centrecaravans.com/tents_clearance.htm, £185 about 4 years ago.

Being a tunnel tent, I don't think its great in very high winds, though never had to put up all the 10,000,000 guy ropes (put up enough for Ljay to trip over though).

Its been great for a cheap tent - if it ripped tomorrow, I've had my money's worth.  Its probably getting to stage where the seams could do with a quick spray - meant to last year, but it was too wet.

Never much trouble with condensation - little bit on the plastic windows in the morning - but we tend to open the door when cooking inside.

This is nearest I can find, but mine has the option to put the 'front' right at the front (no porch) or in 1 or 2 sections (for various sizes of porch at expense of inside space
