ill let you know how i get on after i get it cleaned out tomorrow
ive cleaned out the idle control valve that was gacked up
just the carb on the car :y

well cleaned all the carb out and there was aload of crap in there
even dropped the starter off as it sticks sometimes
and put it all back together and let it run for about half hour and it seems to be running better than before

so it looks like i found the problem
the idle control valve

which is the first one i have ever seen controlled by the water temp
there is a water feed in to it and out of it to control the choke
strange but cute

well you learn something new every day :y

Lol, I would swat up on your theory!

a) It does not have a Carb, it has a throttle body
b) It does not have a choke

What you have probably seen is a coolant heating feed to stop the idle valve freezing.
