The one I had in mind had lowered suspension with uprated springs and brakes alongwith a GM special engine/transmission that was only out for development purposes.  When the car reached end of life at the Police College it had to be returned to VX for evaluation....

So I guess if a load of over enthusiastic trainees could not break it Vx would have been pretty pleased... :y
Ford did the same.

The skid pan car yonks ago was a FWD Escort fitted with copilot/instructor adjustable F&R mechanical ABS and rear wheel steer input, long before such things were available in mainstream cars.  No chassis number on the vehicle nor was it registered for road use.  It went back to Ford SVO for repair when broken by special vehicle courier....

Well I guess there is more to testing cars than just a test track :y No chassis number = no car, so if it was crap........
