Need HP Laserjet 4000 parts
« on: 12 April 2009, 15:30:58 »

Mine pissed me off once too often, crap useless piece of shite.

So if anyone (or their company) is throwing one out, I need a fair amount of the plastics, and the rear paper guides.

FFS, it only ever has one job in life  >:(

I calm now, so going back upstairs to see how much damage it has sustained, and to wash the blood off the bench and off the wall.

Does this mark the return of Sammy? - or would Jaime be asking for some bricks and mortar to rebuild the spare room if he were back?

 ;)

I need the following parts:

Laser unit
Rear paper guide rail
Front paper tray

Top/Front cover

Well, it works again apart from a 20mm blank line down the page where the laser mirror is, errr, 'damaged'

Still need items mentioned above though :(

No, Freddie Fist educated the item.  Sammy, however, is a lot less painful ::)

Ive an old HP officejet that needs 'educating' , scanner has packed up again  :(
I converted it to wireless, using a HP print server and wireless bridge.

Thinking of chucking the lot and getting a wireless all in one.

If you don't need the option of a manual feed try, I highly recommend the Epson P700FW wireless all in one device.  It does what it says on the tin, and seems reasonable on ink.  About £120 from Amazon

No duplexer, but I think the driver has one, would need to check, though obviously that is not as convenient as a proper duplexer unit - one of the reasons why I am repairing the Laserjet ::)

Hi TB

This is what i use on my Epson, it works great, just have to lower the density of the ink and raise the drying time very very slightly...

yeah, don't really need duplexor for the epson, as I use the laserjet for volume work.  Now if the epson had a sheet feeder......
