I just ignore the newbies................sod'em ::) ::) ;D ;D :y

Well said that man!  :y

break em. ;D

Thirded, unless I am close to a promotion then I turn-face and be nice to the toe-rags......  ::) ::) ::)

What a luvly bunch you lot are at times. ;D ;D

Makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it ?  ::) ::)

the only reason the rest of you welcome them in is to get your post count up ::)

That's your opinion HE - the reason I welcome newbies is because for some joining a forum can be daunting and a warm welcome helps!

Those that come and go for no reason wil do so anyway.

Maybe admin should arrange it so the posts in the welcome section do not count towards a post count - then we will see who the real welcomers are and who are just after the post count!

Said the same thing a while back.  Along with the the actual post counts.

Some of us just talk alot ::), others dont.  Numbers are irelevent.

Agreed :y

Agreed :y :y :y what is your average post count this week :D :D :D

I more or less stopped welcoming but this is wrong really, I remember that the comments in the newbies section did make me feel welcome, still took me some weeks to be brave enough to say anything though ::) ::) ::)

Well , got to hold my hands up , I didn't read the forum rules and was sitting here saying hi to all the newbie's. I can assure you I have nothing to sell, I was out again yesterday and today trying to get the old girl even better looking. I can also assure you I was not doing it to get posting numbers, however I can see how it must have looked , so my sincere appologies to anyone / everyone , it won't happen again. I have found nothing but help and very good advice on here and certainly do not want to rock any boat that we are all in .

Take care

Dave, as the OP I want to clarify: I was not referring to any attempt at increasing post count. What was bothering me was that a couple of brand new members introductory posts had become buried behind all the "older" newbies and they might have gone totally unwelcomed. I know from experience that a warm welcome is appreciated and the newbie section is often the first real contact the poster has with the forum.
