Many parts of Cumbria use modest spec silver Skoda estates. The usual giveaway is a total lack of dealer or other window stickers, Magic ~Trees??? or anything else civilians might carry in thier car.
In other words plain cars are just too plain!!!! ::)

Look for the extra 'bump' on the top of the passenger mirror.  Not allowed to have interior passenger rear view mirrors these days...  ;)

Bit difficult to see some times H21 but why no interior rear views :-?

For the same reason why air fresheners from the interior mirror cause it to fail an MOT - it obstructs the drivers view of the road ahead....  ;)

I did not know that :-[what about driving instructors, or do they not have them now?
I put one into Master Vamps car when he was a learner, so that I could see what was behind as well, I had not idea I was committing an offence.. :o

Amazing all those years the boys in blue were driving round so dangerously, it must have caused millions of accidents too.
Another one for the H&S bollix file methinks.

Agreed, to an extent.  It did get a bit bulky for a while with two full size rear view mirrors and a chunky 1980/90 style video camera hanging from the roof.  There was a fair old potential blind spot that you had to work around...

See what you mean but surely at the top of the screen it's a less used area, unless you spent all day chasing the force helicopter.

I have been searching google images for something suitable but nowt available yet.

Imagine the standard mirror fitment for the driver.

Then add a same size mirror for the observer attatched and hanging directly beneath and pointing in completely the wrong direction.

Then a 80's/90's Hi8 camera hanging beneath that again.  Your available screen in the centre is getting distinctly crowded, Cap'n...  ;)

I get what you mean B.
I was thinking of them mounted along the top of the screen rather than one below the other.
Still makes you wonder how we managed to survive so long before the H&S brigade were here to save us all though.

This is the only kind of relevant pic I've got H21, it's from an 'X' reg Omega saloon that was in service with TVP.
It only has one mirror, but has the camera shown.

No problem with all that ANPR, which is a constant distraction to Police Drivers.  You cant legally have a DVD playing, but the 'old bill' can watch the next episode of 'Police Camera Action' even before its been filmed.

Down here we have a light blue Volvo S60, a Seat Leon Cupra, quite a few Skoda Octavia VRS', a green BMW X5 and a black BMW X5, all of these unmarked, there'll be more than that I'm sure too. Tell tale sign is the aerials which is what I look out for, for when I'm doing under the speed limit, so I don't get pulled for curb crawling  ::)

................and a Ford S-Max Del;  it has stopped a lot of people!! ::) ::) :D :D ;)
I'll have to keep an eye for that one then. Was doing 145 MPH on the autobahns the other day  ::)
WOW  :D :D :D ;D
