She looks a beaut Gaffers!! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Nothing better than sailing.  Very peaceful and relaxing, especially with a craft like that :y :y

Well if you have your own sailing boots and oilies I will be sailing up and down the south and east coast next summer

Wow! :o :o  What an offer!! 8-) 8-) 8-)  Tell us nearer the time Gaffers please.

Been around boats (ex-Royal Naval family) most of my life one way or another, but haven't sailed a dingy (Mirror and Graduate) since the 70s!!, although my ex and I had a sea dingy with outboard right into the 1990s motoring around places like Poole harbour and off Hastings.

Love the chance to do it again! :D :D :D ;)

I'm always on the lookout for ballast crew  ;D

Seriously though, I do a lot around poole, solent and chichester but I am looking to go further afield, around dover and into the Thames.  I would love to take the wife right up to and beyond Kew  :y
Nautical euphamism?  ;D ;D

Well been looking to upgrade the Express as she's not that suited to Cruising.  Plus if I am going to get the wife interested in sailing I need a boat that is comfortable so I have just bagged this little beauty for very little money:

She will need some work but it would seem not that much to get her on the water  :y

That's great news G 8-) 8-) - I'll look forward to reading about your progress. :y :y

Was involved in changing a cylinder head of a large Sulzer 800mm bore two stroke diesel in a heavy beam sea once upon a while ago.  Not fun trying to ensure several tonne of cast steel stays in the correct place when being manouevered into/out of place, hanging from a 30 foot length of engine room crane wire...   :o   :o   :o

It's a tempting notion G but a tremendously big step.

On a more modest scale, the inclination to follow a desire when one has youth and fitness on side should be seriously considered as, when you're old and crusty (like me), and stuck in a God-forsaken hole in the ass-end of the Kingdom, it's too bloody late. :( :(

That is why I plan to do it in 11/12 years time, sorry to hear about your condition but hopefully you'll get more mobility soon.  Everything is possible remember my dad was Stage 4 and terminal nearly 4 years ago. 3 years free from the big C now :y

Sailing boats? Now why did the good Lord invent engines?

;D ;D ;D

Dont worry, it's getting an inboard as soon as I find a suitable one.  For now my trusty seagull will fit on the bracket at the back :y

Allways some miggysbeing pulled apart, maybe a nice V6, might need some strengthenging doing 1st though.  ::)
