110mph down a German Autobahn? I'd say that was quite safe. 110mph down road to AppleCross? Thats a different story!

Oh what a fantastic stretch of tarmac that is. :-*

WOW Kevin that looks amazing. Is that Inverpolly up in Scotland? I've just checked on streetmap.co.uk! It looks really good, is there loads of scenery like that?

Does anyone know what mpg you could expect from any engined Monaro (unmodified, and i assume they're all manual?), and a VXR8 - again i assume these are all manual, and are these all supercharged? thanks

Ohh, yes. It's just pi$$ing down most of the time. ;)

It has to be said, Scotland is the most lovely place to tour in a car when the weather is playing. It might take several trips to achieve that but it's worth it.

Just drive until you run out of road...

Geoff - that's actually from Knockan Cliff on the road from Ullapool up to Kylesku. The view is west into the InverPollaidh ("Polly") nature reserve.

There's lots like that round there - look for "Bealach na Ba" for Tunnie's original reference.

And of course the sun always shines, it never rains, you can always see the tops of the hills, the midges don't bite ... ;)

I'll not go into that, my point is that its not necessary to take a superior stance in the first place. You'll have to accept I find the high hoarse attitude on here most distaistfull at times. Do you think we're not aware of every word you 've said?

You 've missed the point of guys post entirely and taken a passionate post about an awesome car in the opposite direction. Your entitled to your opinion of course, and yes we all know your right, now can we talk about the vxr8 please.

I am genuinely sorry to have caused some disappointment for members - including you Chris - by voicing my concerns over this matter.

There’s no point in getting stuck into the rights or wrongs of this unless you specifically want to.

I'm a dyed in the wool copper - what else was I going to do and yes, sometimes it's a pain in the arse to hear someone like me bleating about the potential pitfalls of matters like this but that's the way it is, and as long as I'm not banned here that's the way it will be.

I have no agenda in being a member here and on matters such as the one under discussion some will listen many will not - but that's OK we're all over 21 so are in control of our own destiny

I'm too long in the tooth to occupy any lofty position upon any steed Chris as I learned very early in my career that a fall from such sanctimonious heights is painful so please don't mistake my style of writing for any thing other than what it is - a style of writing.

I’m an ordinary bod who has fiddled about in the shite of society for a sufficiently long enough period for any airs and graces to have long since dissipated.

Thanks Chris for your post, you make a valid point. I used to attack those like Zulu who gave a more composed opinion but i'm calming....slowly, trying not to attack so quickly & it's working. The stretch of dual carriageway in question has a roundabout @ either end, no exits or pavements so is relatively safe to "play" on. That said a blowout or a car innocently pulling out to overtake underestimating our speed could well have resulted in disaster. This will in no way stop me doing it again, that's me but i'm learning to tolerate, even welcome the opinions of those who differ.
