last time i used a cheque was for my pub company in 2005. 8-)

Stopped using them many years ago but the bank still keeps sending me new books every year for all our accounts. Cheques take too long to process and all the while they are in the hands of the banks for clearance it is the banks who collect the interest on your money. Must be millions a day too.
I use direct transfers or online payments by debit cards which is instantaneous and with no charges. It leaves my accounts immediately and is in the other parties account within a few hours at most, excepting weekends and holidays when it is the next working day.
