...Cut for the sanity of the readers!...
Oh and I forgot the one thing I will need .. to borrow a locking kit on the day  ;D Be a hard job without that!

I reckon there'll be plenty floating around :y
Going by those attending, about 4 potentially. Hence my surprise only 2 need cam belts doing at the "cam belt party". It's more of an ATF party ATM:)

That just sounds .. wrong. Remember the club scene at the start of Blade? But with ATF..  ;D

I reckon we could source a chemical suit on site if we ask nicely. And if done over the pit probably drown in it.

TBH I'd love to get my cambelt/tensioners/waterpump replaced too.  I have a vxl dealer receipt showing change at 80k, car now on 99k, but it doesn't mention the waterpump being changed.  I guess its just piece of mind at the end of the day.  However, I have tried to prioritise the work to be done on the day, based on the limited time we'll have on the day.

On top of this, I'm really not that confident with the spanners (although I'm happy to get stuck in and have a go, if I have someone there to guide me). I just don't want people to think I'm being greedy!!

The thing thats worrying me at the moment, is making sure I have all the parts I will need, ready for the day.  And getting the right quality at the right price (very limited budget at the moment!!).  I'd be really grateful if an experienced member could guide me through this!

As I'm sure everyone doesn't want to have to read my novice ramblings and questions, if anyone is prepared to help me out, please PM me.

Thanks in advance!!  :y :y

Don't worry about it. The only reason for the suggestion here to change the water pump with the cam belt is because you already have stuff stripped to allow the easy replacement of the pump. I wouldn't replace the pump just for the sake of it and certainly not your cam blet after just 20k miles. Its your choice, but I'd leave things as they are ...... don't fix what's not broke.  ;)

Cheers Andy, that sounds sensible to me!  I'd still like some help with the other bits though...  :y

There are some very experienced members attending. The way I see it proceeding, arrive with parts required previously purchased for fitting, cam belt kits, GENUINE ONLY cam cover seals etc. Take advice on how to proceed, do what you can, get stuck, ask advice and so on, if you need your cam timing set there are people to help do that and double check it etc.

It will be a case of all hand to the pump and doing what you can, removing plenums and inlets should be fairly easy and safe for less experienced members and good practice for you guys. From there it gets a bit more tricky and help or advice is it hand. We'll sort it between us, so to speak.

Don't expect to turn up and heve "staff" run around after you obviously, get stuck in do what you can, don't take risks and brake stuff, ask for help from people when available and all should be well.

Suggest a bit of research, check your cam belt history. All vx cam belts are 4years and 40k miles service life. Get the correct part no and cam belt kit complete with tensioner and rollers etc. NOT JUST THE BELT ITSELF.

All levels of ability and experience will be present no doubt, take a learning approach and have a laugh.  :y

Looking forward to it now. Make a pleasant change from working on on my poxy bathroom.  ;D

If you buy the "KIT" belt, rollers/idlers and tensioner on backing plate will be present. Water pump, aux belt will be extra if required, so parts will be present. Locking kit to set the timing will/should be present at the meet, along with some expertise from Daz, KW, TB etc.
