Pete - isn't the pump coded to the ECU?
Yep  :y
I still dont know about that... Some people say they are, others say they arn't!  :-?
I thought it was a fuel pump, not sure about injector pumps, that'll teach me to read.
The 2.2 diesel only has an Injector pump.

Any luck with this Omega?
Bosch or Delphi pumps are the same..rubbish.
As per new pump that didn't work - thought there are similar models, only same one will work.
BTW- doesn't new pump has to be coded with the ECU?

Its fine now, I replaced the pump with a pump that had the same part No's and it didn't need coding to the ECU :)

Having spent many hours playing with 2.2's and the pumps i like to think i know a little, the numbers i have found are 009, 016, 018 and 215. I would say it takes about 4 hours to remove and fit and is not as bad as the vectra to do. As for being coded to the ECU the 2.2 doesn't seem the same as the 2.0 DTI because my 2.2 DTI is a 018 but i have just put a 016 in and it runs fine and no they dont have to be coded to the ECU. I've been told that the only reason for the change in codes is not so much to do with what ECU you have but more to do with emissions.

Garage clear out in March 2011 and I will have a large amount of omega parts going very cheap.

Some pumps with diferent numbers will not work properly.
As per coding - didn't have to code pump as I have kept old one and it's Ford so Delphi pump. Common Rail injectors have to be coded but it's completely diferent story.
BTW - did anyone tried to dismantle old, broken pump?

Note to all, the main killer of these pumps is water due to poor servicing and not draining the water from the fuel filter or changing the element.
