You don't have to watch Clarkson if you don't like him!!!  There are other channels  :-/

We are talking about a chap that owns the TopGear production company, and he's had for some time now the attitude of I can do & say anything I want, as I own it and with all the fans, the Beeb will never shut the program down.

All the complaint that the programs received, he hasn't once apologised for offending those, and don't expect him to soon !.

What do you expect from a self-opinionated, arrogant, dickhead, who has no concept of normal.  :-?

Bit harsh, but everyone has opinions......!!

 :y

Just saying it how I see it chap  ::).

The program is sometimes good, sometimes bad, though seems that Clarkson's attitude has changed ever since there was a split between the T.G. (Beeb) & 5th Gear (Ch5).
And aparently few months ago it was reported that Hammond & May weren't happy themselves with the way Clarkson was becoming demanding, and all wasn't well on the T.G. camp ?!.

Never mind..... ::)

Wouldn't know as I don't surf their site.  Just know that there's two T.G sites, the Beeb one, and the actual T.G. site.
And doubt that the offical site would admit that there is a problem anyhow, wouldn't be good for the fans to hear.

he also said when the Omega died, he said it was second best car to sit in the back of, after an S class. He hoped if a car was sent for him was an S class, but if not he wanted an Omega  :y

He is a 'idiot' in some peoples eyes as he says what he thinks, like Simon Cowel. He gets the 'Mr Nasty' going just because he tells a bunch to teens they can't sing and look awful.... when they do, and he is right!

Lets compare Top Gear to the now 5th Gear.... how dull and boooring was 5th gear!? Clarkson brings lot of enthusiasm to his road tests, i remember 5th gear doing a BMW road trip back, and it was bl00dy awful, it looked like BMW paid them, he never said a bad word about it.  >:(

Clarkson's ok. To the haters have you read any of his books? Not all car based. Try "the world according to Clarkson" Yes it sounds typically self indulgent but it's quotes from his Sunday Telegraph column...yes he did....this is purely his take on life in general & an interesting read giving an insight into the man you won't get watching him dick about on telly so try something new & pick up a book that will give you a balanced perspective before bleating out your ill thought comments. To say you love all vx's & hate all Fords or vice versa is ridiculous. I can't think of one major manufacturer who has only ever made good or bad cars.
As for the Lada comment i can only think you were hoping for a pat on the back with that little pearl of wisdom...fell flat did'nt it? Let's face it, it was a silly thing to say. ::)

I'll be as honest as I can here, I've not liked many Vauxhalls at all up until my Omega, I've always loved classic Fords and always bought escorts and Fiestas for their cheapness.
I've read a couple of books by Clarkson and love him or hate him, you can't ignore him. I think he's brilliant

My S-Type was built when Ford owned Jaguar, and it is a superb car - if not as practical as the Omega.

And doesn't Ford still own Aston Martin? Who would say no to one of them?

Isn't Aston owned by Dave Richards' Pro Drive now?

I have followed Clarkson from his days before he was famous, when he was just a hack in Performance Car magazine and I have always thought he was brilliant. I could sit and read his books for hours, and I think the chemistry between them 3 on the programme is fantastic, it justs works.

Compare it to Fifth Gear, you have Tiff, Vicky and Plato who admitidly are petrol heads, then you have the bloke who looks like J L Collins, hes a bit of a petrol head, but then you've got the other two, one is Mr Inappropriate on C4's Balls Of Steel programme and the other is the Geek who seems to deal with second hand motors. They appear to me to have no love for cars at all and are just saying whatever is put in front of them. They even had Tim Lovejoy for a while.......WTF was that all about?????

he has said one good word about vx.. it was to do with the monaro, which unfortunately is actually a holden product ;)..

I completely agree with you though,,, someone who prefers a ford over many other vehicles has got something wrong in the brain...
and you know what they say about fords.. ;)

And they liked the Omega - they didn't like all the bland FWD crap GM pushed out years ago

I hate the word VAUXHALL and think the sooner they get in line with the rest of Europe and badge em Opel the better.....

Great great car but cant stand the image of the name

 :y

any connection with the following...?

"It is generally accepted that the etymology of Vauxhall is from the name of Falkes de Breauté, the head of King John's mercenaries, who owned a large house in the area which was referred to as Faulke's Hall, later Foxhall, and eventually Vauxhall. The area only became generally known by this name when the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens opened as a public attraction. Initially most visitors would have approached by river, but crowds of Londoners of all classes came to know the area after the construction of Westminster Bridge in the 1740s."

Vauxhall Bridge...strong, dependable...old  :-/

i agree with clarkson in some respects - like Amigomv6, I'd rather have a mondeo than a vectra (and I may need a new car ::)), and a Fester over a Corsa.

Astra v Focus.  Hmmm, both lose, wouldn't own either.  In that class, I guess I'll have to tolerate feeding HGs to her (more roomy than both) little Rover.

Now, what to replace the MV6 with (assuming it cant be repaired).........
