One "trick" is to quote a stupidly high renewal, as many folks don't ever check  .... it is often possible to see a decent quote from the same insurers by getting a new quote on-line.

Their "excuse" is that a "new" policy taken "on-line" has an "introductory discount" .. what it really means is "we rip off loyal customers".

Same as the "what is your best quote I'm sure we can match it" line ... if the quote you gave me is the best .. how can you drop it ??? .. so I go elsewhere, after telling them just what I think :)

Exception to the renewal rule being Swiftcover last year when both of ours were due... Was the cheapest quote I could find and even cheaper than as a new customer :y :y :y

Just renewed my insurance today with my current insurer as they were the cheapest available, even by going as a new customer and getting a quote from them my renewal was cheaper ! I'm with Done Deal
