Iv removed almost all components for the AC as it didnt work anyway (probably just needed regassing)...

I will be removing the compressor at the weekend and replacing the belt with a shorter Aux belt :y

The condensor and pipes was removed a couple months ago when the HGs got replaced and have no intention of reinstating the system... so will have a couple of parts available :)

Had the AC drawn down on the Elite 3.2, replaced high and low pressure valves, one or other of which was leaking, and had it recharged. £35  complete. :y :y :y

Collected car from the garage without the aircon being done...

The excuses given being both a problem with the machine and too many cars booked in in... "but we can get it done this afternoon for you" ::)

That's nice I say, but I am out for the afternoon/evening and need to be sixty miles away first thing tomorrow morning >:(

Two new HP valve's picked up from dealers yesterday morning, went to the re-gas place to be told they are fully booked so could I fit the valve and then rebook for re-gas :'( went to work last night hot hot hot) will have to get it done next week now.  :'( still LP valves were in the post this morning so will fit both this weekend) :y

Think I will have to look at restoring the old compressors I have here for the future.

Next job on the elite now looks like rear bushes again and track rods, still it has been about 4 years since the last ones were fitted (GM parts for rear bushes) poly on the front with new drop links. :y

Poor planning there. Summers over.

Replaced my condenser and had it regassed weeks ago. :P

Front pads changed... were actually only 50% worn, but inside ones were starting to groove :-\

Front wishbones inspected and unsurprisingly, no evidence of fatigue wear on either of them... polys have done over 3000 miles now :y

Suspect the top mounts are shot... it's really noisy over speed humps, but they've not done too badly... 110k miles and they're Firstline specials :-X

Had mine filled in the spring when it was cheaper (£25) on offer from the formula 1 outfit.

Best time to change, as wear much more in, they don't dissipate heat too well...

They start off about 75% the thickness of Omega ones, which won't help, especially as the Omega is heavier than either the Monaro or Corvette the pads are usually fitted to ::)
