Will be replaceing the powersteering pump over the weekend, just hope that fixes the problem with the PS, Iv got arms like Arnie's at the moment and they ache so much..... surprising what you get used to... I wouldn't mind but I have 2 PS pumps for a 2 litre but they just cant be adapted to fit the V6 unfortuntely...

Will be ordering all the parts for a full service including gearbox filters so I can change all fluids too, ready for next weekends little jaunt around a racetrack near me :) I shall have much hooning and a massive smile on me face too whilst going round :y :)

Absolutely the pump Al...

Need Arnie to turn the wheel on tickover, then rev the engine and it gets soooo easy...

What relay BTW...? it's a mechanical fault not an electrical fault...?

Later V6s and diesels have Servotronic steering which varies the assistance according to vehicle speed... Duff relay effectively switches off the power steering :y

I never knew that... everyday's a skool day :) :y

Mine is a '99 2.5 Elite, I believe it to be an early facelift...?

Just in case, where is the relay located...?

It'll be the pump.

The servotronic "ECU" moved around a bit, depending on year.

Finally got around to replacing the other rear donut bush. Same technique worked well again, screw drivers to prise the initial bit out, then ram brake calliper tool in, use that to prise bush out by expanding it. Popped out nicely.

New one in without a problem, no rattles over bumps now  :)
